Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Bowen Wang #6289 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Negative Split and Fast Finish Bowen covered 5.00 km in 23:00, averaging 4:36/km. He finished 817th of 5,624 overall and 69th in the M3640 division. After opening with 5:51 for the first kilometre, he settled quickly and ran the remaining 4 km in 17:09, an average of 4:17/km. The progression was clear: 3:40 for km 2, then back-to-back 4:37 kilometres, before a quickest final kilometre of 4:17. He improved his overall position from 1,061st at 1 km to 817th at the finish, gaining 244 places over the race. That closing speed stands out and suggests good pacing adjustment after the opening kilometre; a slightly sharper first kilometre could bring his overall time down further at this fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf.
