Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Joseph Perry #5140 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Start, Strong 5K Result Joseph ran 5.00 km in 15:37, averaging 3:07/km. He finished 27th overall out of 5,624, 25th in Male Elite, and 11th in the Male Elite 2630 division. That puts him in roughly the top 0.5% of the field. In a closed-road evening 5K through Canary Wharf, this was a very competitive outing. His opening 2 km were especially sharp: 3:02 and 3:05, reaching 2 km in 6:06. He stayed well controlled through 3 km in 9:16, then closed with 3:13 and 3:08. The spread from fastest to slowest kilometre was just 11 seconds, which shows solid pacing. As a coaching note, holding the third and fourth kilometres a touch closer to early pace could help convert that quick start into an even stronger overall time.
