Fast Start, Strong Elite-Level 5K Thomas ran 5.00 km in 15:02, averaging 3:00/km. In a field of 5,624, he finished 14th overall and 4th in the Male Elite 1825 division, an excellent result in a deep race. His opening 2 km were especially sharp: 2:57 and 2:58, moving him up to 5th overall and 1st in his age division at that point. The middle section was the key change in rhythm, with kilometres 3 and 4 at 3:02 and 3:08 before he closed well in 2:59 for the final kilometre. That late rebound is a good sign. For an even faster 5K, the main opportunity is holding closer to early pace through km 34. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening format suited a quick performance, and this was a very competitive one.
