In a large evening race through Canary Wharf, those are standout numbers, especially with only 1 second separating his average pace from sub-3:00/km. The pacing was controlled and competitive: 2:59, 2:56, 3:04, 3:07, then 2:57 per km. He moved from 15th overall at 2 km back to 13th by 3 km, then finished strong to gain another place in gender and division by 5 km. The clearest opportunity is the middle section from 34 km, where pace drifted to 3:043:07/km before the closing rebound. That finishing speed shows strong race management and good reserve late on.
