Fast 5K with a Strong Closing Kilometre Daniel ran 5.00 km in 15:19, averaging 3:03/km. He finished 22nd overall out of 5,624 and 20th in the Male Elite field. His kilometre splits were 3:02, 3:03, 3:05, 3:10, and 3:01, showing a very quick opening and the fastest closing kilometre of the race. Through 3 km he stayed tightly controlled at 9:09 total, averaging 3:03/km. This was a high-level performance on a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. The key stat is the rebound over the final kilometre after the 4th km dipped to 3:10; that closing 3:01 shows strong speed late in the race. As a coachs note, the biggest opportunity is to hold the 3rd and 4th kilometres closer to early-race rhythm, which could trim a few more seconds from an already excellent result.
