His pacing was well controlled early, with the first 3 km covered in 13:56 at roughly 4:39/km pace, then he accelerated well over the second half. The clearest strength was the finish: 4th km in 4:31, then fastest final kilometre in 4:19. That negative split trend moved him up 200 overall places from 1 km to the line, and 145 places among men. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that late-race speed stands out. As a coaching point, slightly more commitment in the opening kilometre could unlock a quicker overall time while keeping this strong closing pattern.
