Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Morgan Kennedy #5428 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong negative split with a fast final kilometre Morgan covered 5.0 km in 28:37, averaging 5:43/km. She finished 2146th of 5624, placing in the top 39% overall, top 12% among women, and 141st in the womens 3135 division. In an evening 5K built for quick running through Canary Wharf, her pacing stood out more than her placing. Her first 3 km were very steady at 5:59, 5:52, and 5:59/km, then she lifted well over the closing 2 km with 5:36 and 5:12/km. That is a 47-second improvement from first to last kilometre, and she gained 391 overall places from 1 km to the finish. As a coachs note: this finish shows strong reserve; pushing a little earlier over the middle kilometres could bring her overall time down further.
