Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Alistair Griffiths #6654 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Quick Start Set Up a Solid 5K Alistair ran 5.00 km in 24:07, averaging 4:49/km at the Canary Wharf evening 5K. In a field of 5,624, he finished 1,087th overall, with a strong opening 1 km of 4:30. He reached 2 km in 9:19 and 3 km in 14:11, holding a sub-4:45/km average through that point. The key stat was the pacing shift after 1 km: 4:30, then 4:50, 4:52, 5:02, and 4:55. That still produced a controlled final 3 km of 14:48, averaging 4:56/km. The fastest section came early, and maintaining that first-half rhythm deeper into the run would likely bring the overall time down. A steadier middle kilometre range would be the main target next time.
