From there, his pacing stabilised well: 4:59, 4:55, and 4:49 for the final 3 km. That gave him a strong closing kilometre, his second-fastest after the opener. The main opportunity is pacing the first kilometre a little closer to overall race pace, which could help preserve position deeper into the run. In an event known for its fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, this was a solid, controlled effort with a good late response.
