That gave him a 1:06 spread from fastest to slowest kilometre, with a small lift again in the final kilometre after km 4. He finished 147th in the Male 4145 division. The numbers suggest a strong start, then a gradual fade through the middle before a steadier close. As a coachs note, the best gain here would likely come from smoothing the pacing after km 1 so the effort stays closer to the finishing average. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening format suits that approach well, and the late rebound in km 5 was a useful sign that he still had some rhythm left at the end.
