Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ruby Wain #5358 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf On Speed Zone

Explosive speed over a short segment Ruby covered 0.30 km in 1:36, averaging 5:25/km. She passed 9 runners in the On Speed Zone, a strong gain over a very short effort. Among 5,624 participants, she finished 1,789th overall, 507th female, and 98th in the female 3135 category. This closed-road Canary Wharf event rewards quick acceleration, and her numbers show exactly that: high speed sustained for 300 metres with multiple places made up. The key coaching note is to keep building top-end speed and smooth pacing over short efforts so that this kind of surge can be repeated efficiently in future race segments.
