Consistent Pace with a Strong Finish Derek Hissong maintained a solid and consistent pace throughout his Half Marathon at the 2026 Seattle Marathon Summer Events. With an elapsed time of 1:20:57 and an average pace of 6:10 min/mile, Derek showed impressive endurance and pacing skills across the 13.1-mile course. Notably, his pace varied very little, with a commendable kick in the final stretch, achieving a 6:00 min/mile pace at miles 9 and 11. His placement improved in the latter half of the race, concluding as the 6th overall and 5th in his division (M20-29) out of a total of 1,147 participants. Each mile split displayed remarkable consistency, hovering around the 6:10 min/mile mark.
