Starting strong, Thomas claimed the first position outright in the opening mile, clocking a swift 5:16. He then displayed strategic pacing in the second mile with a slightly slower time of 5:50, which saw him slip to second place, maintaining this position through the third and fourth miles. A standout moment came in the fifth mile, where Thomas regained the lead with an impressive split time of 4:52, his fastest pace during the race. His strong finish in the final mile at 5:17 secured his overall victory, completing the race in a total time of 32:55.
