Division win built on patience and a powerful middle stretch That was a sharp St. George Marathon: 2:25:55 at 5:34 per mile, good for 1st in the M35-39 division. He opened with real control, running 34:40 for the first quarter at 5:17 pace, then handled the Veyo climb exactly the way youd hope to see, with miles 8 and 9 in 6:05 and 5:56 without letting the day get away from him. What stands out most is how well he came back once the road turned favorable. The third quarter was his fastest at 34:52, a 5:19 pace, and miles 15 and 16 were especially strong at 5:04 and 5:03. He was even in 1:12:30 and 1:13:25, just 55 seconds apart, which says a lot over 26.2 miles. The late miles drifted into the 5:51 to 6:04 range, but he still closed the final 0.2 at 5:39 pace to finish 11th overall in a field of 5,987.
