Steady, tough-minded marathon with a near-perfect split Micah ran a beautifully controlled St. George Marathon, finishing in 2:31:45 at 5:47 per mile. The best part was how even it was: 1:15:53 for the first half and 1:15:52 for the second. He opened with real purpose, six of his first seven miles between 5:29 and 5:41, then handled the Veyo climb without letting the day get away, covering miles 8 and 9 in 6:19 and 6:03 and still staying right in touch. Once the road turned back in his favor, he got right back to work. Mile 15 was a sharp 5:23, and by mile 16 he had moved up to 16th overall and first in his division. The third quarter was his fastest at 37:19, quicker than both the second and fourth, which says a lot about his strength coming down into town. He finished 3rd in M25-29.
