Strong second half, division win, and a sharp descent into town Luke ran an excellent St. George Marathon, finishing in 2:31:21 at 5:46 per mile and taking 1st in the mens 2024 division. What stands out most is how well he finished: after a 1:16:47 first half, he came back in 1:14:34 for a clear negative split. His race settled beautifully after the early miles, and his quarter splits tell the same story: 37:09, 39:39, then 37:12 and 37:22. He handled the Veyo climb with control, absorbing miles 8 through 11 at 6:21, 6:13, 6:02, and 6:22 without letting the day get away from him. Once the road turned back in his favor, he made the most of it, ripping off a 5:18 at mile 16 and closing with real strength through miles 21 to 25 in 5:31, 5:45, 5:31, 5:48, and 5:30. That was a smart, tough race.
