Fast, steady running and a top-10 finish downtown Luke put together an excellent St. George Half Marathon, finishing in 1:11:53 at 5:29 per mile. What stands out most is how controlled the race was: he went through the first half in 35:47 and the second in 36:06, just 19 seconds apart. He was especially sharp early, clipping off miles of 5:24, 5:17, 5:23, and 5:20, and by mile 3 had moved up to 3rd overall. Just as important, he stayed strong coming down into town. After a slower 6th mile, he settled right back in with miles of 5:34, 5:34, and 5:22 from 9 through 11, then still had a 5:04 pace over the final 0.1. That kind of composure brought him home 9th overall out of 3,607 and 3rd in the men's 20-24 division.
