Date: Oct. 3, 2026 Participant: Jason Damazo #8005 Race: 2026 St. George Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Fast, steady running and a division win Jason put together a strong Half Marathon in 1:13:17, averaging 5:35 per mile and winning the M40-44 division while finishing 10th overall out of 3,607. What stands out is how quickly he settled in after a 5:44 opening mile: miles 2 through 5 were a sharp, controlled run of 5:14, 5:25, 5:30, and 5:31, and by mile 3 he had moved up to 5th overall. He stayed composed the rest of the way, with the first half in 36:28 and the second in 36:50, just 22 seconds apart. That kind of balance matters on this road. After the slower patch around miles 6 and 7, he got right back on pace with 5:36 and 5:35 at miles 10 and 11, then closed out the final mile in 5:45 to secure both the top spot in his age group and a top-10 finish.
