Date: Oct. 3, 2026 Participant: Steven Lew #8008 Race: 2026 St. George Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Fast second half, steady all the way into town Steven put together an excellent Half Marathon in 1:10:45, averaging 5:24 per mile and finishing 4th overall out of 3,607 runners. What stands out most is how well he used the course: after a 35:40 first half, he came back in 35:05, a clear negative split at 5:21 pace. The quarters tell the same story, tightening from 17:40 and 18:01 early to 17:34 and 17:31 late. He was in the mix from the start, moving from 5th at mile 1 to 4th by mile 2, and even up to 3rd at miles 7, 8, 10, and 12. After a slower 5:44 at mile 6, he quickly reset and closed with real control: miles 10 through 13 were 5:18, 5:27, 5:21, and 5:23, then a sharp final 0.1 at 4:58 pace. That is strong running on the descent into town.
