Fast, steady half with a division-winning finish Janae ran a terrific St. George Half Marathon, covering 13.1 miles in 1:19:09 at 6:02 per mile. The best part was how sharp she looked early and how well she held that rhythm: 19:02 for the first quarter, 19:58 for the second, and 19:42 for the third. She was especially quick through miles 1 to 5, opening with 5:56, 5:49, 5:40, 5:57, and 5:57, and reached 10 miles in 59:52. The later miles into town still showed real strength on tired legs. After a slower mile 7 in 7:33, she settled right back in with 6:17, 6:07, 6:01, 6:19, and 6:20 through mile 13, then closed the final 0.1 in 40 seconds. That consistency carried her to 1st in the F 40-44 division, 6th woman, and 20th overall in a field of 3,607.
