Fast, steady half with a podium age-group finish Trent put together a strong Half Marathon in 1:17:34, averaging 5:55 per mile and finishing 2nd in M40-44. What stands out first is how sharp he was early: through 5 miles he never dipped slower than 5:52 pace, with a quickest split of 5:30 at mile 3. That helped him move up to 11th overall by mile 3 and briefly into the division lead. Just as good was how well he kept things together after 6.55 miles in 37:55. The second half came home in 39:39, and even with miles 12 and 13 at 6:18 and 6:23, he stayed competitive all the way to the line, finishing 15th overall out of 3,607. A 6:03 mile at 10 and 5:59 at 11 showed real strength on the descent into town.
