Date: Oct. 3, 2026 Participant: Jeffrey Barrus #8048 Race: 2026 St. George Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Fast second half, strong finish into town Jeffrey ran an excellent St. George Half Marathon, covering 13.1 miles in 1:17:35 at 5:55 per mile. The best part was how well he finished: his second half was 38:31, quicker than his 39:05 first half, and his quarters got sharper as the race went on, ending with his fastest segment at 19:14. That kind of closing strength is exactly what you want to see on the run into town. He was steady early, opening in 6:01 and then stacking miles of 5:48, 5:47, 5:58, and 5:59. After a slower seventh mile in 7:28, he settled right back in and closed with 5:53, 5:47, 5:57, and 5:52 from miles 10 through 13. He also moved up well during the race, reaching 12th overall at mile 12, and finished 3rd in the M40-44 division.
