Fast, steady running all the way to second woman Rachel Seeley put together an excellent Half Marathon in 1:14:03, averaging 5:39 per mile and finishing 2nd among women. What stands out most is how controlled the effort was: her two half splits were essentially identical at 37:02 and 37:02, and all four quarters stayed tightly grouped between 18:14 and 18:48. That kind of balance is the mark of a very strong day. She opened confidently with 5:38, 5:32, and 5:31 in the first three miles, then kept things composed through the middle before coming back with a strong finish. From mile 9 to 13 she ran 5:44, 5:44, 5:35, 5:46, and 5:45, moving back into 2nd woman by mile 10 and holding it to the line. On the run down into town, that steady closing stretch showed real strength on tired legs.
