Date: Oct. 2, 2026 Participant: Skyler McConnell #7311 Race: 2026 St. George 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Steady 5K with a sharp closing kick Skyler put together a really solid 5K at Worthen Park, finishing in 21:41 at 6:59 per mile. What stands out is how even the race was: 7:01 for the first mile, 7:01 again for the second, then 7:08 for mile three before a fast final 0.1 in 34 seconds, which works out to 5:43 pace. That kind of closing gear says a lot about how well he stayed in control early. He also moved up when it counted, improving from 17th overall through two miles to 15th by the finish, and from 6th to 4th in the mens 2029 division. In a field of 1,002, that is a strong showing. This was a composed, competitive evening run in town, with consistency from the gun and a decisive finish.
