Date: Oct. 2, 2026 Participant: Julien Canales #7509 Race: 2026 St. George 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast start, steady middle, and a sharp finish for a top-10 5K Julien put together a strong 5K at St. George, finishing in 21:13 at 6:50 per mile and landing 10th overall out of 1,002 runners. He was especially solid early, clicking off mile 1 in 6:32 and matching it with another 6:32 in mile 2, a nice sign of control. He also held 3rd in the mens 2029 division throughout. Even better, he found another gear at the end. After mile 3 in 7:35, he closed the final 0.1 in 36 seconds, which works out to a brisk 6:08 pace. That kind of finish shows good fight late in the race and helped secure 3rd in his division. This was a well-run 5K with a very steady opening two miles and a decisive push to the line.
