Date: Oct. 2, 2026 Participant: Damian Falabella Valladares #7570 Race: 2026 St. George 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Age-group win on a fast, steady 5K Damian Falabella Valladares put together a sharp Friday night 5K at Worthen Park, finishing in 22:38 at 7:18 per mile. The best part was how steady he was early: 7:12 for mile 1 and 7:12 again for mile 2, holding 21st overall through two miles. Against a field of 1,002, he came home 24th overall and 21st among males. He also raced with real grit late. After a 7:41 third mile, he still found another gear and covered the final 0.1 in 34 seconds, a 5:49 pace, to seal first place in the boys 114 division. That kind of closing speed says a lot. A division win and a controlled 7:18 average made this a strong, confident run in the 5K.
