Date: Oct. 2, 2026 Participant: James Hatt #6808 Race: 2026 St. George 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast, steady 5K with a sharp finish for third overall James put together a strong 5K at Worthen Park, finishing in 17:44 at 5:43 per mile and taking 3rd overall out of 1,002 runners. What stands out right away is how settled he was early: back-to-back 5:30 miles through the first two miles kept him right in 3rd place from the start. The third mile eased to 6:18, but he answered that beautifully over the final stretch, covering the last 0.1 in 28 seconds, a 4:41 pace. That closing gear says a lot. On a flat in-town 5K, holding 5:30 pace for two full miles and still finding a kick at the end is the kind of run that turns heads downtown.
