Date: Oct. 2, 2026 Participant: Chase Budge #7231 Race: 2026 St. George 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast start, steady middle, and a sharp finish Chase put together a strong 5K at Worthen Park, finishing in 22:17 at 7:11 per mile. The best part was how controlled the opening felt on paper: 6:54 for mile 1, then right back with another 6:54 for mile 2. That kind of rhythm carried him to 20th overall out of 1,002 runners, and 18th among men. The third mile stretched to 7:59, but he still found another gear when it counted, covering the final 0.1 in 32 seconds, a 5:28 pace. That late push says a lot. Holding position near the front through two miles and then finishing with that kind of snap made this a really solid evening of racing in the 5K.
