Date: Oct. 2, 2026 Participant: Lauren Cooper #7512 Race: 2026 St. George 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast, steady, and a winning close Lauren put together an excellent 5K at Worthen Park, finishing in 21:40 at 6:59 per mile. She was in control from the start, opening with back-to-back 7:08 miles, then lifting the pace with a 6:52 third mile. That kind of steadiness, followed by a clear move late, is what stands out most. She held the top womens spot all the way through the race and finished as the first female overall, while also taking 14th overall out of 1,002 runners. The closing stretch was especially sharp: after 3 miles in 21:07, she covered the final 0.1 in 33 seconds, a 5:35 pace. On a flat Friday-night 5K, thats a strong, confident finish and a really well-run race.
