Date: Oct. 3, 2026 Participant: Jake Jensen #10802 Race: 2026 St. George Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Fast finish and a beautifully measured half Jake put together a strong Half Marathon in 1:20:05, averaging 6:06 per mile, and the best part was how much better he got as the race went on. He came through the first half in 41:09 at 6:17 pace, then closed the second half in 38:56 at 5:56 pace. That kind of negative split on this road into town shows real control early and plenty left for the final miles. He was steady through 6 miles, with every split between 6:14 and 6:22, then kept pressing: 6:05 at mile 10, 5:53 at 11, 5:49 at 12, 5:56 at 13, and 5:15 pace over the final 0.1. The quarter splits tell the same story, dropping from 6:17 pace in the first quarter to 5:51 in the last. Finishing 2nd in the M 30-34 division capped off a very well-run morning.
