Strong Start and Solid Division Victory Zach Eustance showcased remarkable consistency throughout the 2026 Surf City Marathon. Despite some fluctuations after the initial strong 5:28 min/mile pace, Zach succeeded in consistently maintaining a pace around the 5:50 min/mile mark for the majority of the course. Notably, he achieved the fastest split of 5:27 min/mile at the 2-mile mark. Throughout the race, Zach oscillated between top three positions, displaying moments of strength, like reclaiming the first place at mile 9. Finishing with an overall time of 2:33:31, Zach had an average pace of 5:51 min/mile, securing the 1st position in the M30-34 division out of a total of 2593 participants. Zach's consistency in maintaining a competitive pace was prominent, though focusing on steady splits in the latter half could further enhance race outcomes. Excellent work on division success, and maintaining or slightly improving pace in the final miles may yield even stronger overall results in the future.
