Consistent Pacing with Strong Division Finish Carlos Galdamez demonstrated notable consistency in the 2026 Surf City Half Marathon, maintaining an impressive average pace of 6:41 min/mile over the 13.1-mile distance. His overall time was 1:27:33, placing him 18th in his division of M35-39. What stands out in Carloss performance is his even pacing, with most splits hovering around the 6:40 min/mile mark, and no drastic slowing down or speeding up, which is a testament to his steady approach. An interesting point in Carloss stats is the strong push during Mile 6, clocking the fastest split at 6:26 min/mile, allowing a key positional gain to 18th in the division during that segment. In the final quarter, although Mile 11 saw a brief pace increase to 7:22 min/mile, Carlos quickly regained his stride with strong finishing miles at 6:37 and 6:49 min/mile. Fine-tuning the mid-race pacing could sharpen his future performances even further.
