Notable consistency was observed in the first three miles where Gavin progressively reduced his mile split times from 9:02 to 8:58. He exhibited strategic pacing with mid-race splits showing some slowdown, particularly between miles 4 and 6, with paces climbing to approximately 11:46 and 9:59. Gavin's strong finish was evident as he managed to improve his pace towards the end of the race, notably clocking an 8:37 split at mile 7. While some portions of the race saw paces over 10 minutes, such as miles 10 and 11, Gavin successfully regained a sub-10 minute pace by mile 13.
