Consistent Pace and Strong Finish Joy MacDonald delivered a solid performance at the 2026 Surf City Half Marathon Wheelchair event. She maintained a steady pace throughout the race, finishing with an overall elapsed time of 1:55:06, giving her an average pace of 8:47 min/mile. Notably, Joy achieved a remarkable 2nd place in both her gender and division, demonstrating her competitive edge. Her ability to enhance pace towards the final stretches, with an impressive 7:59 min/mile during mile 12, contributed significantly to her strong finish. Analyzing the splits, Joy maintained consistent pacing in the 8:30 to 8:50 min/mile range for most of the race. There were some variances, such as a slower 9:21 min/mile in mile 4 and mile 8.
