Consistent Pacing with Strong Early Splits Sam Conklin completed the 2026 Surf City Marathon in 3:11:34, with an average pace of 7:18 min/mile. Notably, the race began with strong pacing, with the fastest split recorded at mile 16 at 6:42 min/mile. Sam showed increased speed through the early stages, peaking at 6th place in the M25-29 division by mile 9. Early miles were consistently fast, notably miles 2 and 3, each faster than 7:00 min/mile. As the race progressed, splits slowed, with the slowest mile at 8:57 min/mile by mile 26.
