Steady Pace and Strong Finish Adeline Stupin completed the 2026 Surf City Marathon in 3:36:18, maintaining an average pace of 8:15 min/mile. Notably, she progressed from a starting pace of 8:58 min/mile in the first mile to her fastest split of 7:45 min/mile at mile 8. This significant improvement showcases effective pacing strategy, contributing to an overall placement of 288 out of 2,517 participants. Throughout the marathon, Adeline made impressive gains in positioning, significantly moving up from 614th to finishing 8th in her division F25-29 by mile 26. Her steady inclines in both her placement and pace depict a strong second half of the race. To improve further, consider slightly increasing the pace in the final quarter, as the splits showed a slight slowdown particularly in the 23rd and 24th miles. Incorporating more varied pacing intervals during training may enhance endurance in these later stages.
