Notably, he improved his position in the third mile with a split pace of 6:49 min/mile. He displayed resilience in the middle miles, holding a steady position in the top 10 of his division (M35-39) by mile 10 while keeping a sub-7-minute pace until mile 15. The later portion of the race saw Ethan's pace stabilizing around 7:11 min/mile, with a significant split at mile 25 where he clocked 8:25 min/mile. Despite the gradual slowing, he finished the marathon with a total elapsed time of 3:08:29. Given this performance, maintaining consistency in pacing towards the latter parts of the race could further strengthen Ethan's performance in future races.
