Consistent Mid-Race Splits Lead to Strong Finish Corbin Gunter demonstrated a commendable performance at the 2026 Surf City Marathon, maintaining a steady average pace of 7:51 min/mile throughout the race. Starting with a strong first mile at 7:47 min/mile, he consistently adjusted his pace during the initial miles, gaining momentum and peaking with impressive splits of 7:28 min/mile and 7:34 min/mile at miles 2 and 5, respectively. Corbin held a steady pace through the race, with some slight increases after mile 12, where he clocked his fastest mile of 7:23 min/mile.
