Consistent Start with a Challenging Finish Evis Drenova's marathon performance at the 2026 Surf City event exhibited a solid start with consistent pacing. Establishing an early pace of 7:40 min/mile in the first mile, Evis improved to 7:21 min/mile by the second mile, successfully maintaining an overall average pace of 7:29 min/mile for a notable portion of the race. Evis secured a top 25 position in his division between miles one through six, showing strength in the M35-39 group. The latter half of the race presented an opportunity for skill enhancement as Evis saw gradual deceleration, with split times extending to 9:26 min/mile by mile 24. Despite this, Evis completed his marathon in a respectable 3:24:13, maintaining a consistent presence and finishing 18th in his division. In future races, incorporating strategies for sustained pacing in the final miles may achieve even greater success.
