Consistent Pace, Strong Finish Eileen Malik maintained a remarkable consistency throughout the 2026 Surf City Half Marathon, achieving an average pace of 6:30 min/mile over 13.1 miles. Starting with a steady 6:41 min/mile, she progressively increased her speed, achieving her fastest split of 6:05 min/mile in the final stretch. This strategic pacing enabled her to secure a commendable 4th place in her Division F25-29. Her performance showed great potential, particularly with consistent gains in overall placement and finishing as the 14th female overall out of 12,408 participants. To enhance her performance further, maintaining consistent placements like those achieved in splits 3, 10, and 13 could be beneficial. Focus on sustaining speed in mid-race segments could bridge gaps in performance, possibly leading to an even stronger overall showing in future races. Great strategic execution, Eileen!
