Consistent Pace with a Strong Finish Mia Geiger demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout the 2026 Surf City Marathon, completing the 26.2-mile course in 4:07:21, maintaining an average pace of 9:26 min/mile. Notably, her early splits hovered around the 9:20 min/mile mark, showing a disciplined approach. A standout performance was observed at the third mile, where she placed 28th in her division, improving her rank consistently. Mia's efficiency in pacing was evident as she consistently moved up in her division and overall standings, particularly shining during the 25th mile with a split time of 9:41 min/mile, finishing 13th in her division. Focusing on improvements, observant pacing allowed Mia to maintain near-identical split times, though the last few miles saw a slight increase in pace. Further emphasis on maintaining a steady pace in the later miles could result in even better performance, especially when she finished strong at the last mile, jumping to 235th overall. Mia should focus future training efforts on sustaining early consistency into the final miles.
