Consistent Strong Performance With Slight Pace Variation I Cheng Lam showed consistent pacing throughout the 2026 Surf City 5K. She maintained a solid effort, beginning with an 8:21 minute/mile in the first mile and closing with an 8:46 minute/mile average. Each split reflects a well-paced race, though there was an observable pace adjustment after the first mile. Her initial mile pace of 8:21 positioned her well within her division as she advanced in placement. The statistics reveal opportunities to enhance second-mile pacing, where the elapsed pace slightly increased to 8:39. Despite this, I Cheng saw an improvement in her placement by the third mile, evidencing a strong finish. In the F20-24 division, she was able to maintain a competitive position, highlighting her proficiency. Consistency in training could help stabilize the middle mile pace and further solidify her position in competitive fields. Overall, this shows promising potential for future races.
