Consistent Performance Earns Top Division Finish Wendy Wagner delivered a remarkably steady performance at the 2026 Surf City Marathon. Throughout the race, her pace mostly remained fast and consistent, with an overall average of 8:12 min/mile. Despite a few slower splits in the latter miles, Wendy maintained her composure and secured an impressive first place in her F50-54 division, clocking a total race time of 3:35:05. Analyzing her splits, Wendy exhibited strong progress, improving from an 8:17 min/mile pace in the first mile to frequently staying around 8:03 min/mile for subsequent miles. This consistency helped her rise in her division, ultimately placing first out of all competitors in her category. Although there were slight slowdowns in the final stages, these had minimal impact on her overall division ranking. Focusing on maintaining energy levels in the final stretch could help improve further, but her ability to maintain a strong pace for the majority of the race was evident and commendable.
