Consistent Effort Yields a Strong Finish Nils Longueira demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2026 Surf City 5K, maintaining an impressive average pace for the duration of the race. Starting strong with a 6:43 min/mile pace for the first mile, Nils continued with 6:48 and 7:09 in subsequent miles, showing a reliable performance with a total elapsed time of 21:20 minutes. This effort resulted in a noteworthy 4th place in his division (M35-39), out of a competitive field. Overall, Nils placed 65th out of 5020 participants, and 56th in the male category. His pacing was steady, yet there might be room to explore strategies that could prevent the slight pace increase in the third mile. Focusing on maintaining speed in the final stretch could potentially lead to an even stronger finish in future events. Nils' performance at this race sets a strong foundation for upcoming races.
