Steady Start with Consistent Pace Juliana Arruda completed the 2026 Surf City Marathon in 3:39:36 with an average pace of 8:22 min/mile. The first 10 miles showed strong consistency with an average pace around 7:36 min/mile, securing key positions such as maintaining 2nd in her division F35-39 for the first 14 miles. A significant part of the race strategy relied on sustaining a steady tempo in the earlier stages, within the challenging early pace range of 7:27 to 7:51 min/mile. In the latter half, a gradual slowing occurred with splits extending to 10:34 min/mile by mile 25, but her performance remained focused. Despite ranking 334th overall, Juliana held a strong 4th place in her division among 2517 participants. Strengthening her endurance stamina in the final miles could fine-tune her performance and sustain her in the division ranks till the race end in future events.
