Consistent Performance Despite Late Challenges Kayla Helmle maintained a remarkable consistency in her pacing throughout most of the Surf City Marathon, especially in the early stages. Starting strong, she held an impressive 8:23 min/mile for the first two miles, ranking 4th in her division for F Under 20. By the 5th mile, Kayla picked up her pace to 8:09 min/mile, showing a promising boost. Notably, during miles 3 and 4, she improved her division placement from 4th to 3rd, demonstrating competitive positioning. While maintaining an overall pace of 9:08 min/mile for the entire marathon, the data suggests a decline in speed in the latter half, particularly from mile 19 onward, where her pace dropped to 9:46 min/mile. Finishing with an impressive division position of 3rd for mile 26, Kayla showed resilience.
