Consistent Pace Leads to Strong Division Finish Tess Grefenstette maintained a consistent pace throughout the 2026 Surf City Marathon, finishing the 26.2-mile race with an overall time of 3:47:13 and an average pace of 8:40 min/mile. Notably, Tess secured the 8th place in her F35-39 division out of numerous competitors and was 80th among female participants. Her strongest split was the 22nd mile, completed in 8:27 minutes, suggesting a brief but effective surge in speed. Analyzing the splits, Tess showed admirable steadiness, with most miles logged between 8:32 and 8:50 min/mile. A drop in overall placement was evident between miles 9 and 10, where her pace slightly increased to 8:56 min/mile.
