Consistent Passing and Strong Finish in Marathon Shinya Kadono delivered a remarkable performance at the 2026 Surf City Marathon. With consistent pacing throughout the 26.2 miles, Shinya maintained an average pace of 7:14 min/mile and completed the race in 3:09:55. Notably, he moved up from 121st to 48th place overall, finishing 8th in his division (M25-29). Shinya's constant improvement is seen from mile 1 (7:15 min/mile) to an impressive last 10K that saw him clinch spots within the top 50 overall. His strongest splits were at mile 14 with a 6:46 min/mile, and his endurance allowed him to maintain competitive positioning. Throughout the race, Shinya's ability to increase pace in later miles highlighted his strategic strength, notably during miles 14 and 16 with below-average splits.
