Consistent Pacing and Strong Performance Andrew Castellon demonstrated impressive pace management across the 2026 Surf City Half Marathon. His splits reveal a slight increase in pace over the distance, starting at 5:32 min/mile for the first mile and finishing with an average of 5:56 min/mile over the 13.1-mile course. He secured a strong position in his age division, especially noteworthy in the 5th mile where he achieved his best division placement of 3rd. Despite a slowing trend toward the later stages, particularly noticeable in miles 9 through 13 with a gradual increase from 5:56 to 6:40 min/mile, Andrew maintained his focus and achieved a final time of 1:17:50. Continuing work on sustaining pacing consistency could help in maintaining or improving competitive placement, with particular focus on the final miles to close the gap between early and late performances.
