Strong Finish with Consistent Pacing Kaelin maintained a commendable pace throughout the 2026 Surf City Marathon, finishing in 2:52:31 with an average pace of 6:35 min/mile. Notably, he improved his placement significantly, rising from 57th place overall early in the race to finish in the top 10 for his division, M30-34, securing 5th place. There was a notable increase in speed during the fifth mile with a split time of 6:20, marking his fastest mile. Throughout the race, Kaelin demonstrated excellent pacing with minimal fluctuations, maintaining consistency in his performance. Despite a slight decrease in pace during miles 19 and 20, he maintained a strong finish, completing the last mile in 6:53. To further improve his performance, focusing on maintaining consistently faster paces during the late miles could be advantageous. His overall accomplishment suggests a strong foundation to build upon for future races.
